IMPORT

1.
You've got a plan for the future.
It just might work.
There's a little bit of risk,
and you could get hurt.
There's a friend of a friend
in the import line,
and you ought to get along just fine.

2.
From way in the back
comes a nagging doubt:
are you trying to get in
where there's no way out?
It's a heck of a deal
in the morning light
but different in the dead of night.

3.
This friend of a friend,
he has no fear,
trying to make out
he's an engineer.
He's mastered the smile
of the newly born,
but you can't say you have not been warned.

4.
You get a little nervous,
hanging with this mob.
You keep on saying,
"Hey, it's just a job."
And you're just another citizen
trying to get by,
and this is how the strong survive.
